IVL India, with its extensive experience in supporting the technical requirements of SAP R/3 and its proven ability to provide strategic and cost-effective solutions for SAP users, is now offering the service ‘ABAP Optimization’. IVL India's unique approach to ABAP optimization project comprise the following elements:
- Preparation.
2. Analysis.
3. Realization
3. Realization
Preparation
In the first instance, an object identified as having a performance problem is analyzed for workload single statistics. If the problem object is not identified yet, Workload Analysis is to be used to identify frequently used objects and examine their run-time. At the end of this stage, the bottlenecks are identified and the optimization tool to be used for further analysis is decided

Analysis:
In this phase, appropriate tools are used to identify critical sub-components of a program causing the performance problems. It is very important that the analysis is done systematically with an in-depth knowledge of the Database Optimiser, the Database Access Strategies adopted by the optimiser and the importance of Database statistics.

Realization:
The program sub-components that were identified as causing the performance problems are modified wherever possible by applying relevant ABAP optimisation guidelines. Changes to technical settings including buffering options, secondary index etc are done, if necessary, after due consideration of the overall impact of such changes. The objects are tested for functionality, and the analysis is repeated to check the improvement in performance.
